Still On MV

Hey people,

Well, I am still here on Martha's Vineyard. The view from my window as I type this is very beautiful. The lawn is big and green, with flowers growing in little clumps near the fence where our yard becomes a big overgrown meadow. And then, where a view of the lake usually is there's just... mist. A huge cloud of mist that makes me feel like I'm looking off over the edge of the world.
Sorry for that little bout of sappyness, I'm done now.
Anyways, not much to report except that I'll be home in a couple of days. I shall then proceed to Le's in the Garage with my friend AS and enjoy Pho, which is God's gift to Vietnamese food. It is the most amazing, chickeny noodly yummy soup evah (no typo). Try it next time you're at the Garage instead of getting Felipe's or Ben and Jerry's. No, seriously.
That's pretty much it. I've been working on some writing, and may post a story here (or a section) for you guys to read.

Apology

Hey.

Well, apparently, my first blog entry made some people mad.
I am honestly sorry for any meanness towards people that basically resulted from me being pissed off about something unrelated to them, and I am sorry for any hurtful words toward them. I understand that most of it was stereotypes that were sucky and untrue.

I also understand that SS is a human being too, who deserves to bully my friends freely without any hindrance or complaint, yet i am not quite as sorry about this aspect of the blog.

So I have deleted the blog entry. BTW, for the FB photo, I understand that hurt feeling result in reactions and lashing out. So thanks for your observations, however true and untrue they are, and thanks especially to anyone who pointed out that they were wrong.

Marthat's Vineyard

Hey folks. I'm writing this blog from Martha's Vineyard on a crappy old laptop with a bad dial-up connection, so I'm going to try to get a lot in while I have a window of time.

Hmmm. I last wrote after Alewife. The day after that was Chinese food. We went to the restaurant, which was quite deliciously greasy. I sat with Steve and some other girls, which caused some issues, I s'pose, but it seems to be OK now. Anyhow, some fortune cookies included: "A great way to be healthy is to eat more Chinese food" (kind of staggeringly obvious that it's an ad, while at the same time staggeringly wrong, since Chinese food consists of grease, oil, and meat, isn't it?), "The aim of education is to teach you how to think, not what to think" (now how did they know we were from Graham and Parks?), "Oops, wrong cookie!" (ROFLMAOQUNIAKJ), and a thin, sliver of paper that was evidently a mistake in the factory. These last to belonged to MM, who was quite amusingly (and rightly) enraged.

The net interesting thing that happened is that I have come to MV (third time this year--don't ask) , which has honestly been a bit of a let down in that it has been rainy and cold THE WHOLE TIME. We've had fun regardless (Oak Bluffs Flying Horses carousel, whcih I have faithfully ridden each time I've been here. Screw being too old.), but come on. It's Martha's Vineyard. Beach weather, please.

Well, I g2g. Hopefully, things'll be a bit happier when I get home and write again.

Guten Tag (or Nacht, depending on your time zone)

The BTPF (Boston Tea Party Faith)

Well, Canoby was fun--getting my friend Tien soaking wet at Castaway Island when he didn't have a change of clothes was quite amusing--and I had a great time. I swear, riding the Boston Tea Party is like a religious experience. You go up, up, up, around a track, and then your soul seems to leave yiour body as you go sailing down, almost lifting out of your seat, trying to scream but being unabel too. Then, a huge white dome of water lifts over you in slow-mo, like the hand of God or something.

I almost converted right then and there.

Today, we went to Alewife Resveration--which was pretty boring. I had interestiong discussions with Steve (the most amazing Brooklyn Jewish math teacher EVER) and dreamed about the Chinese food lunch tomorrow. Laura, I have to admit that your feildtrips are somewhat lacking, whcih sucks because we're going to be taking a lot of them next year, apparently.

Hopefully, I'll have somethign to fill this blog with other than school stuff (hopefully, because the summer starts in after tomorrow), btu right now that's all I got.

Later,
